Rithum becomes first launch partner to help retailers and brands sell on Walmart’s third-party marketplace
Research Triangle Park, NC – April 12, 2016 – Rithum Corporation (NYSE:ECOM), a leading provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions that enable retailers and branded manufacturers to increase global sales, today on the Catalyst Americas 2016 stage announced that it has integrated with Walmart’s global marketplace. Rithum is Walmart’s first launch partner, helping retailers and brands list their products on Walmart.com and optimize their merchandise sales. Through this integration, Rithum customers can team up with one of the largest online retailers in the U.S. and gain access to its loyal customer base.
“Our integration with Walmart’s global marketplace provides retailers and brands with a great opportunity to get in front of Walmart’s massive audience,” said Rithum CEO David Spitz. “We’re excited to help Walmart increase its product selection by onboarding more third-party sellers, and to help our customers build their brand recognition on the website of the top retailer in the U.S.”[1]
Seth Beal, Walmart senior vice president of global marketplace, joined Spitz during a keynote presentation at Catalyst to announce the integration with Rithum and discuss the benefits it offers sellers. Walmart has a meeting room set up at the conference and is extending direct invitations to sellers to discuss opportunities on its marketplace.
“Our partnership with marketplace retailers allows us to provide our customers with more brands and products on Walmart.com,” said Beal. “Through integration with Rithum, we can quickly team up with Rithum’s expansive network of sellers and brands to help our customers find what they want.”
Walmart Marketplace was launched in 2009 and is open to select retailers. Products from third-party retailers are displayed alongside Walmart’s own inventory and are called out as Walmart Marketplace items. The seller name is displayed on third-party items. Sellers on Walmart’s global marketplace gain access to special promotion opportunities, like Value of the Day offers. Michael Freedberg, director of affiliate marketing and resident marketplaces expert at GoGoTech, said that Walmart has far exceeded his expectations since he first started selling on its third-party marketplace.
“After the approval and setup process, we were rewarded with exponential revenue growth as more and more of our catalog surfaced on Walmart.com,” Freedberg said. “Walmart has done exceptionally well for us and is our second–highest grossing marketplace. We’re very optimistic about how it will perform in the future as we work to increase our visibility on the marketplace.”
