People in Planes http://rithum.com/peopleinplanes http://rithum.com en Tour Blog 4/5 http://rithum.com/peopleinplanes/blog/90 May 28th, 2008 peopleinplanes http://rithum.com/peopleinplanes/blog/90 http://dawnerd.com/?p=19 Hello to you.
Haven’t checked in for a bit. Sorry about that. Also I lost my camera which has some bits of footage from us making the album- so if anyone finds it, give it back. I also lost a turquoise and brown woolen crochet style hat I bought in Marrakech that made me look like a Moroccan mountain man/goat herder. So if anyone finds that, I’ll have that back too. A lot of shit is disappearing into thin air. I seem to have developed a perpetual feeling of having left something behind like my little black bag, or my lap top bag, or my wallet, or my phone, or my shades, or the
camera! Gotta be on top of things in this crazy place, or else someone will take advantage. Too much stuff!
So, we’ve had some great gigs on our little adventure with Jupiter One thus far. A couple of sports bars and one cruise ship-style restaurant with couples ordering tacos and chicken wings in front of us, but apart from that…things have been building very nicely since the Hoboken show. We always have a good show there so thanks to the folks in that area. Then on to Boston, Vienna and Philly, and all shows went splendidly (particularly Vienna as we’ve never been there before). Looking forward to coming back!
We’re doing the album artwork at the moment. It’s a pretty difficult process as we’re all pretty fussy about shit. I think my idea is the best and we should just go with it. It seems obvious. But then everyone else thinks the same about their ideas. It’s funny, the awkward look on a persons face when they present an idea or a concept to you- like they think it’s the best idea ever, and that they can even help influence you into liking it by increasing their own happiness levels at what they are saying. But then that false smile quickly and easily slips into an ever more pained expression, where you can see the nervousness increase in their face and body language with the recognition that you think the idea is infact rubbish. A bit like a flailing contestant on the Dragon’s Den. The pendulum tips and then their getting sucked down a plughole. Their fucked. That’s no way to get a job done. Anyway, it always finds a way.
We’re heading off up to Toronto to film a live performance of the new record. I believe it’s a free show on Sunday night so if you want a sneak preview, gets your arse down there! Zisco the guitar God sent me these photos. They’re a bit shit but their the best I can do right now. Like I said, I lost my camera. (Ian’s asleep).
